What a Leap Year!

I have recovered very nicely from having my tonsils out. It is still sore and annoying but it has been nothing like my last case of strep. I feel worse at the end of the day for some reason. Saylor went to the doctor yesterday and we had to go back today and she has the FLU!!!!!!! Yes, the flu....that is all I need is get that on top of the whole tonsil thing. I am hoping it will just pass me over. She started Tamiflu and they gave it to Christian also so he wouldn't catch it. I thought that was a great idea. It will be a calm weekend at home because poor Saylor feels awful and just lays around. She is so pitiful! I hate it when my babies are sick. Have a great weekend all!!!

Look what I made!

Publix had gorgeous strawberries yesterday so I bought some to experiment with. I am no Martha Stewart but I thought they were so pretty. They tasted quite good too!!! LOL

Snow Day!!!

If you listened very intently today you could hear the screams of thousands of children in Middle Tennessee today. The reason...a snow day!!! Those can be hard to come by in these parts. Saylor was outside bright and early making snow angels and doing cartwheels and backbends in the snow. Mind you it wasn't a lot of snow but to her it was like a foot. She ran and ran and said it was the best day ever!!! Kids are so happy in the moment. It is awesome. Here are photos of her enjoying herself.

I can't get my photos to load so I will post later. ugh!!

At home and doing well.

I got home this afternoon from the hospital. I am doing really well. I have been able to talk the whole time. I have had some pain but nothing worse than strep throat. I am really tired but other than that my pain med keeps me comfy.

Here is a picture of my Dad's birthday cake. It looks so good and tasted really good too! Thanks Lori Cantrell at Designer Cakes.

An Eventful Week

Well Monday was my Dad's 60th birthday and my family surprised him with lunch at the plant in Cookeville for him and his employees. I had a cake made that looked just like his sausage box you buy in stores. I will post pics later but I am not in the mood to mess with my camera. LOL

Last night we played Bunco at Rachel Crouch's house. It was a blast!! I won the most buncos and got the coolest keychain. I was so excited not to be such a loser at this months game. I will post a few pics from it also.

Today I went to Murfreesboro for my preadmission testing. It went fine. I didn't faint when they drew my blood which is great for me. I am a fainter and it sucks!!! I have to be back in the morning at 6:30 a.m. and surgery will soon follow. If you don't know I am having my tonsils out. It should be a fun time. I will be so glad when it is over.

Saylor also moved up a class in gymnastics today. She has only been in this class 3 weeks so she was sooooo excited! Way to go baby girl!!!

Have great rest of the week. I don't know when I will feel like posting again.

A Productive Saturday

I got a lot done today and was kind of proud of myself! lol I started cleaning around seven and by ten I decided I needed to head to Lowe's to get a new toilet seat for one bathroom and also fertilize for my yard. I have never fertilized it by myself before. Not that it is a big deal, but still I did it!!! Anywho, Saylor and the girls next door all came over picked up sticks with me and then they all wanted to help fertilize. After I had the yard pretty much done I let the girls take over for a minute. The puppies across the street tagged along too!!

I wasn't so successful with the new toilet seat. Brad is coming over to do that for me. Thanks Brad!!!

Saylor's Big Decision

This past Wednesday Saylor called me at work to tell me she was ready to be a big girl and get her ears pierced. I was very surprised because she has always acted like there was no way she would do that. I have never pushed her to do it and just wanted to let her decide when it was time. We headed straight to WalMart before she changed her mind. She got nervous when we got right down to it but still wanted to go ahead with it. They did both ears at the same time and she did cry for just a second but stopped right away. I think it scared her more than anything. She has been so proud of herself since then and is doing great with them. I pray they don't get infected. I am not sure she could stand that. Here is a picture of her ear and one of her on our new elliptical which she just loves!!!
