Saylor's Big Day and Mom's Big Disaster

As I posted earlier, Saturday Saylor turned 7. She spent the night with my mom Friday night because Saturday morning Mandy and I left for Cookeville at 7 am to go to Sam's to pick up food and then off to a bakery in Cookeville that was making a Hannah Montan electric guitar cake for her birthday. I was so excited about this cake because we had a lot of guitar stuff going on in our decorations. They were on each table with a microphone and hanging from the ceiling. We left Sam's and got to the bakery about 8:45. It was closed. I didn't panic. I figure he's out for a minute. I mean he is open 7 days a week. Mandy goes to the barber shop next door and is inside several minutes and I figure they are calling the guy. Mandy finally comes back to the car and informs me he hasn't been in since Tuesday and no one can get in touch with him. Apparently he has gone out of business! WHAT?? He can't go out of business he owes me a freakin' guitar cake for my perfect day I have been planning for weeks! The man also said people had been stopping all week to pick up orders and were like us...shocked! Okay so now what? I don't want a WalMart cake. If I had I would have ordered one to begin with and it has to be Hannah. We start driving home and I am on the verge of tears. Mandy said for me to try Publix in M'boro. So I call one store and they don't do Hannah cakes but she said to try the other one. So I call them and yes they do and yes they can have me one ready in two hours to pick up. Thank goodness for small miracles. We get back to McVegas pick up my balloon order at Walmart and head to Harvest Farms to drop off all the food and balloons and then head to M'boro. We get the cake with no problem and I am happy with it. It wasn't what I had planned but at least it was Hannah! We get back to Harvest Farms at 12:15 and the big jumping castle is being delivered at 12:30. It was the hit of the party. Even Mandy, my aunt and cousins and myself took a dive down the slide. It was hilarious!!! Saylor loved her cake and had no idea all the drama of the day had gone on. I never told her about the first cake so I could surprise her. That was a good idea on my part. She never knew the difference. Anyway, alls well that ends well and her party was a blast and all of the kids had a great time.

P.S. I emailed the jerk and told him what I thought and he said he had to close for personal reasons. Whatever dude!! How about a note on the door or a phone call.

Man was I worn out last night! LOL! Who starts out and has a 5 hour trip to get a birthday cake! At least I did get some makeup on before the party! And the first thing Saylor said when I ask how things looked was "I love me cake"! You gotta love that! At least my little sweet pea had a Happy Birthday! :)
